Karen took this neat picture with her trusty Canon Rebel XTi DSLR camera. Clicking on it will show you some of the pictures taken on September 14, 2008 after a dead Sweetgum tree snapped and fell on our roof. Ike's wind gusts had reduced to about 40 MPH, but that was enough to send this tree into our house. This branch became a nasty spear, ramming itself into our roof like a sword.
Fortunately, the damage was limited to what you see here. It could have been much worse! Needless to say, this tree and its siblings are now "short-timers"!
